DAY 1, 2 LEWA WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY, RUGUSU SPRINGS.
Take a private charter flight north to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, passing close to Mt. Kenya – 17,000 feet on the equator. Walking, horse riding and night game drives are on offer here, giving you an excellent chance to see all of the Big Five, especially rhino.
DAY 3-5 SHABA RESERVE, PRIVATE CAMP.
Take a helicopter flight up to Lake Michaelson at 14,000 feet on Mt. Kenya, catch a rainbow trout and cook it for breakfast, then fly down into the bottom of Magado crater where you can see salt made by the local people evaporating water in shallow pools, then continue to Shaba Game Reserve, and land at camp. Species like the gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, oryx, reticulated giraffe and dikdik are common here, as well as lion, cheetah and leopard, and the bird-life is spectacular.
DAY 6-7 NAMUNYAK CONCESSION, SARARA CAMP.
Drive northwest, through stunning scenery to Namunyak. This is a Wilderness Conservation Trust that is operated in partnership with the local Maasai people and offers a variety of activities that are different from the more usual vehicle based 'game drives'. You can walk, go for camel safaris or night drives, or just relax in the swimming pool overlooking the quiet beauty of 360 square miles of wilderness.
DAY 8-10 AMBOSELI CONCESSION, PRIVATE CAMP.
Fly by charter plane south to the Maasai plains and to your camp near Amboseli National Park. This lovely area, dominated by the mountain, is the home of many thousands of animals, elephants and plains game in particular, but including lion, cheetah, leopard and spectacular birds. Here, we can drive, or walk, in spectacular scenery surrounded by animals and the Maasai people on whose land we camp.
DAY 11-14 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK, PRIVATE CAMP.
After an early breakfast drive to Arusha in Tanzania. Fly by helicopter across the Rift Valley to Ngorongoro Crater, and enjoy a special picnic lunch on the rim overlooking the crater. Descend into the crater for an afternoon of game viewing in this beautiful place. Here, the black-maned lions and huge bull elephants are famous, as are the two dozen or so black rhinos living in the crater. Later, continue by helicopter to your private camp in the Serengeti for the night.
Three full days to explore the Serengeti from your camp, which will be located near to the huge herds of migrating wildebeest and zebra, and Thomson's gazelles. It is not unusual to see ten cheetahs, the fastest land animals in the world, in one day on the plains. We have plenty of time to explore everywhere in search of predator action in a land where the predator is king.
DAY 15 NAIROBI, PREMIUM HOTEL (Day rooms).
Take a charter flight from the Serengeti, via Kilimanjaro for exit formalities, and on to Nairobi. Met and transferred to the hotel with time for last minute shopping and a farewell dinner before final departure for home.
